How do you choose? What do I need to know?
I often get asked this by business leaders looking to embark on Digital Transformation. I hear everything from "this should be easy" to "this feels overwhelming." The truth, in my experience, sits somewhere in between.
The decision to proceed is rarely simple. It's shaped by multiple factors, such as:
➡️ Simplifying a complex technology environment
➡️ Providing teams with a single platform to run the business
➡️ What $$$ are you prepared to invest vs the ROI you expect
➡️ Enabling Sales teams to focus on customers, not admin
➡️ Reducing reliance on workarounds
This is where I've learnt the importance of pausing, getting clear on the "why" and the "what" before moving.
A few things I suggest leaders consider in their decision:
⭐️ What outcomes are you trying to achieve?
⭐️ Are these driven by your business strategy?
⭐️ What exactly are you changing - part or all of your landscape?
⭐️ Are your people ready for the change?
⭐️ Do you have the right capability in-house, or do you need support?
⭐️ Does your funding align with your ambition?
To navigate this complex decision and deliver, I believe the best option is to find someone experienced whom you can trust. The right partner doesn't sit outside; they walk alongside you.
So here's my reflection for you: before you move, pause. Work through the thinking. Clarity upfront will save you far more down the track.
